Mexico: Gunfire Between Rival Drug Cartels And Police, 15 dead

MEXICO CITY: Nearly 15 people lost lives in a gunfire that took place between police and two rival drug gangs on Wednesday in northern Mexico.

The violence started near the remote town of Las Varas between rival drug trafficking gangs. It gets over when the police officials reached to the area, Eduardo Esparza of the prosecutor’s office for the state of Chihuahua stated.

Northern Mexico is fiercely disputed region for Mexico’s drug interest group since its mountainous territory and nearness to the border. This planned corridor helps to send narcotics to the US.

As per the officials, the groups included in the gunshots were “La Linea.”

Nearly fifteen people killed and five others were detained. On Friday, about 17 gunmen died in a heavy shootout with police on a highway in Sinaloa.
