New Delhi: The German luxury carmaker Mercedes Benz launched its new GLS350D SUV in India priced at Rs 80.40 Lakhs (ex-showroom Pune) on Thursday. India is among the world’s 10 major markets. It is basically the updated version of the GL-Class.
Powering the India-spec Mercedes-Benz GLS is a 3.0-litre, V6, diesel engine that, mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission, churns out a massive 258bhp at 3400rpm and 620Nm at 1600-2400rpm. The engine helps the vehicle touch the 100kmph mark from standstill in mere 7.8 seconds.
With cutting-edge technology, luxury and comfort the SUV is even better in terms of security. The list of safety features include collision prevention assist, crosswind assist, attention assist, electronic all-wheel drive (AWD) traction control with 4ETS, ESP and brake assist.
SUV GLS350D is the fourth new model of Mercedes Benz in India. The company is planning to launch 12 new models this year.
