Meghalaya Government to introduce resolution to ratify GST Bill


SHILLONG: The Meghalaya administration is probable to introduce a resolution in the legislative assembly on the initial day of the autumn session, commencing on Friday, to ratify the GST Bill, with the state cabinet having by now approved the Constitution (122 amendment) (GST) Bill, 2014, with an aim to ratify the similar.

Conference representatives on the eve of the five-day autumn session, Chief Minister Mukul Sangma has also further conveyed that, the state administration would bring a resolution as it was compulsory for the respective assemblies to ratify the bill. Asked about the insinuation of GST in Meghalaya, the CM quipped, “We do not foresee any revenue drop though initial challenges will be there.”
