Meerut: Speeding truck rams into car, 4 killed


Meerut: On Sunday four affiliates of a family travelling from Ambala to Meerut for a spiritual function killed following a speeding truck rammed into their car close Jhinjhana area in Shamli district. As four members killed, one wounded and is fighting for life in hospital. Police officials conveyed that, attempts are being made to trace the truck driver and detain him.

Providing information, Bhagwat Singh, station house officer, Jhinjhana police station further conveyed that, the mishap occurred at about 2 am when the family was travelling to Meerut from Ambala in their car. Four killed in a head-on collision with a truck.

The departed have been recognized as Visham Agarwal (55) and his wife Anju Agarwal (52), and their relatives Seema (35) and Raani (20). All of them died on the spot. For now their relative, Shubham is fighting for his life in hospital.

He was hurried to a local hospital in Shamli but afterward referred to Lala Lajpat Rai Memorial Medical College, where he remains serious. Singh further added that, the post-mortem of the four people has been done and their other family associates have been informed about the mishap.

Accused of sorcery, Telangana couple commit suicide after killing three daughters

An FIR has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code at Jhinjhana police station. The truck driver ran away from the spot down with his vehicle.
