NEW DELHI: Medical shops across the country will remain closed today following strike against the “rigorous” rules on the trading of medicines.
As per All India Organisation of Chemists and Druggists (AIOCD), many medical bodies confronting the policy on the trading of medicines in the country, proposed to the government, went neglected due to which the one-day protest was carried out.
“We have been asked to upload all information related to sale of medicines on a portal, which is not possible with the existing infrastructure,” senior member of AIOCD stated.
The medical shop owners are also against the online pharmacy which leading to risk of their business.
“The online pharmacy will also encourage irrational usage of medicines and sale of fake drugs,” the AIOCD member stated. The protest will be held at Jantar Mantar today to raise their concerns.
