Kashmir: At Least three militants involving the nephew of Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Maulana Masood Azhar have been gunned down in a violence that took place in Pulwama district of South Kashmir.
Maulana Masood Azhar’s nephew has been found as Abu Talha and he belongs to A++ category militant.
The violence started in the Kandi Aglar village area of South Kashmir. Nearly two militants of Jaish-e-Mohammed terror group lost their lives in the encounter. They have been found as Mehmood Bhai and Wasim Ahmed Ganai.
As per the cops, a warrior of 44 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) died, two armed forces and a militant wounded during the violence.
“Three weapons, including one AK, an M16 rifle and a pistol, besides ammunition were recovered from the site of the encounter,” a police official said.
“It is the same group that was wanted for the attack on the police check-post in Rajpora”, he added.
Army’s 44 RR, Special Operations Group (SOG) and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) seized the village following information about the existence of militants there.
On Monday evening, the security forces conducted search operations when the militants were hiding in following which a battle took place.
A militant recognized as Sowkat Ahmad was also wounded when strikers clashed with the security personnel to interrupt the operation against the militants.
The authorities have suspended the Internet services in Pulwama district.
