The much anticipated Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS has been spied testing again, ahead of its expected launch during the festive season. The Baleno RS made its debut as a concept car at the 2016 Auto Expo which was held in Greater Noida in February.
The car has now been spotted testing on the roads without any camouflage, but with lots of cues to tell that this is what the mightier version of this extremely popular hatchback is going to look like. The main change in the Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS is going to be under the hood, where the RS version will sport an entirely new petrol motor, which will be a 1.0-litre turbocharged unit, called the Booster Jet engine.
The three-cylinder motor will be able to put across 112 BHP of power and a healthy 175 Nm of peak torque, which would take the appeal of the regular Baleno a notch higher to now compete with the likes of hot hatches like the Volkswagen Polo GT TSI. The Baleno RS will also feature a different set of alloys to distinguish it from its regular version. The alloys look much sportier than the ones on the regular car and complement the car in a nice way.
The headlamps on the Baleno RS also get a slight smoked effect and the front bumper also gets a lower lip to accentuate the overall sporty looks of the car. On the inside, there will be aluminum finished pedals to carry the sportier feel into the cabin. It could also get a flat bottomed steering and sportier stitched seat upholstery.
The Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS is expected to be introduced by the festive season this year in the country and will supposedly be a highly competent offering to the performance seeking customer, given the fact that the regular version of the car has been accepted extremely well.
