The automobile manufacturer Maruti Suzuki said that it will recall 75,419 Baleno cars for upgrading the hatchback’s airbag controller software.
The recalled Baleno cars (both petrol and diesel variants) were manufactured between August 3, 2015 and May 17, 2016, Maruti Suzuki said in a statement.
Also nearly 16,000 Diesel Baleno cars will be checked for faulty fuel filter at free of cost, manufactured between August 3, 2015 and March 22, 2016, said Maruti.
Sources say that Maruti will also be recalling 1,961 units of DZire compact sedan to replace faulty filter here as well.
Dealers will start reaching out to buyers from May 31.
As of 11.07 a.m., Maruti Suzuki shares were up 0.5 per cent at Rs 4,139 as compared to 0.84 per cent gain in the broader Nifty.
