New Delhi: Days after indirectly condemning Bollywood actor Aamir Khan for his comments on intolerance, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on Saturday said many people told him that what he said was right, reported a news agency. Speaking in Goa, Parrikar said "What I said in Pune, I don't want to repeat it, but who wants to watch (his speech at Pune) he can watch it on YouTube. Nobody has told me that whatever I said in Pune is wrong and everyone has said that whatever he has said in Pune is right." Parrikar but did not elaborated further.
Addressing the gathering of around 400 SC community, Parrikar said opposition is creating a conspiracy to defame BJP. He also said lot of people trying to create misunderstanding against BJP who wants take everyone along. "Same people also sympathized with those people who are anti-national," he added.
Referring to the controversy over Aamir Khan and attack on dalits, Parrikar said "These two incidents make it clear that that there are some people have different thinking about the country."
"People have shown their power, an actor made this mistake, said his wife wants to go and stay in a foreign country. That was an arrogant statement," Parrikar had said on last Saturday in Pune. He added that "an online trading company" the actor was associated with as well "was "taught a lesson".
