Manipur: Assam Rifles jawan dead, three wounded in IED explosion in Ukhrul district


One Assam Rifles jawan died and three others wounded in an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) explosion that was held in Ukhrul district of Manipur on Friday.

The bomb blast was held at 27 Assam Rifles check post at Ramva at 7.20 am on Friday.

Police and Assam Rifles troop have seized the area that lies under Sangshak police station confines in Ukhrul district. The investigation is in process.

On June 15, an attack was held against Assam Rifles that lost the lives of one jawan and wounded four others.

The speculations revealed that the attack was held by Revolutionary People’s Front (RPF) group. It is believed to have conducted IED bomb blast at Kashung village in Ukhrul district.

Since last few months, several incidents of IED blasts and attack on security forces were reported in Manipur.
