Karnataka: A man was killed by cow vigilantes in Udupi district of Karnataka as he was transporting cows. The local police have arrested around 18 people in case of murder.
The name of the victim has been identified as Prashant Pooojary. He was traveling with his friend Akshay Devadiga when they were attacked by members of a right-wing group named the Hindu Jagrana Vedike.
After the assault, Mr Poojary killed because he was wounded. Currently, Mr Devadiga is in hospital.
Prior this month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi brought the pain on late assaults by cow insurance squads, cautioning that most bovine vigilantes use religion as a spread for wrongdoing. His legislature has requested states to guarantee that dairy animals vigilantes don't enjoy savagery.
