Man detained at The Leela Palace where John Kerry is staying


New Delhi: An unidentified person was detained from the lobby of The Leela Palace hotel where the US Secretary of State, John Kerry is staying. The person was caught holding a sharp object.

The man, identified as Uday Ratra, 56, was once blacklisted by the same Hotel Leela in Chanakyapuri for his misconduct. Police said Ratra started misbehaving with the hotel staff after he was spotted in the lobby and asked to leave immediately.

The hotel security then handed him over to the Delhi Police, which interrogated him along with a team from the US accompanying Kerry. Ratra was once arrested in a case of theft by the Saket police in South Delhi. There is no clarity on whether he has been arrested or not.
