Mumbai: Nowadays, almost all car companies are launching high-profile cars in automatic version. In recent times, the demand for automatic cars has increased in the market.
Mahindra SUV500 W6 launched with an automatic gearbox at a price of Rs 14.29 lakh ex-showroom in Mumbai.
The model is launched at a price of Rs 15.53 lakh ex-showroom Delhi.
As a result, the XUV500 is now available in four automatic variants including W6 FWD, W8 FWD, W10 FWD and W10 AWD.
The XUV 500 automatic features a 6-speed gearbox that works in conjunction with the familiar 2.2-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine. As expected, the addition of an automatic has reduced the efficiency of this 140bhp engine by around 13 per cent. The front-wheel drive model, in fact, is rated at 13.85kmpl.
Vivek Nayer, chief marketing officer, automotive division, M&M Ltd. said, "The automatic transmission of the new age XUV500 has resonated very well with our customers since we launched it in November 2015. I am sure that the availability of the automatic transmission across variants and a range of price points will now render this technology more accessible to a larger base of customers and make the XUV500 a more attractive proposition amongst a wide spectrum of buyers.”
Fitted with seven seats as standard, the XUV 500 is one of the most affordable models in its SUV segment.
