The much-awaited trailer of Madhur Bhandarkar’s next titled ‘Indu Sarkar’ released online on Friday afternoon. The film that features Kirti Kulhari in the titular role of a poetess with a speech impediment, also observes Neil Nitin Mukesh essaying the character recently politician Sanjay Gandhi.
The gritty trailer begins with the declaration of emergency that baffles the whole country and its repercussions are what follows in the two-and-a-half-minute clip. The film is based on a 21-month long period from 1975 to 1977 when Prime Minister Indira Gandhi announced a state of emergency across India. The interesting storyline and a thick plot is the highlight of the film which includes impeccable acting chops by the on-screen characters.
Music composers Anu Malik and Bappi Lahiri have likewise joined hands, for the first time, to make music for the film that is partly a work of fiction.
‘Indu Sarkar’ highlights Kirti Kulhari, Tota Roy Chowdhury, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Anupam Kher in pivotal parts and is slated to release on July 28.
