Dhoni broke the record of Sri Lanka’s Kumar Sangakkara by taking the catch of Ria Hendricks on the first ball of the 18th over of South African innings.
In 262 innings, M S Dhoni has taken 134 catches in T20 cricket. Before Dhoni, Kumar Sangakkara had taken 133 catches in 194 innings. Indian cricket team player Dinesh Karthik has also caught 123 catches in the smallest format of cricket.
Earlier, Shikhar Dhawan (72) made 10 fours and two sixes in an innings of 39 balls, India scored 203 runs in five wickets, which is also the best score in T-20 against South Africa.
