Low milk yield among Indian cows is biggest challenge says Radha Mohan


Minister of Agriculture and Farmer’s Welfare Radha Mohan Singh today stated, India is a world pioneer in milk production however low milk yield among the Indian cows is the greatest test.

Initiating World Milk Day work in New Delhi, Mr. Singh stated, the desi cow milk must be gathered, handled and sold independently for its high nourishing worth and such a move would bring better cost for ranchers.

Communicating worry over the decrease of desi cow breeds he stated, the Government’s Rashtriya Gokul Mission is a driven plan, which goes for protection and welfare of steers and Desi cow breeds.

Minister of State Sudarshan Bhagat, stressed on the crucial role of milk in eliminating malnutrition among children. Mr. Bhagat said, dairy sector is the back bone of village economy and the sector has a crucial role to play in doubling Farmers income
