Linkin Park lead singer Chester Bennington committed suicide on Friday at his Palos Verdes home in Los Angeles. He was 41-yr old.
The hollywood music industry is shocked by the sudden demise of renowned singer Chester Bennington. On the social media, Linkin Park’s guitarist and songwriter Mike Shinoda wrote, “Shocked and heartbroken, but it’s true. An official statement will come out as soon as we have one.”
Several other hollywood singers including Rihanna, Paul Stanley and Dwayne Johnson, famous producer Nile Rodgers and rock band My Chemical Romance expressed grief over his death. Rihanna posted a photograph of Chester Bennington from a concert and mentioned him as “Vocal beast.”
Chester Bennington was recovered hanging in his residence and “It is being handled as a possible suicide,” Brian Elias, chief of operations at the coroner’s office stated.
Few Hours ahead of his death, Linkin Park had shared a video for its newest single “Talking To Myself”.
Chester Bennington had shared about his scuffle against alcohol and drug abuse from a very juvenile era. He even stated Team Rock in 2014,”I was getting beaten up and being forced to do things I didn’t want to do. It destroyed my self-confidence. Like most people, I was too afraid to say anything. I didn’t want people to think I was gay or that I was lying.”
Chester Bennington made his music debut with Linkin park’s album Hybrid Theroy in 2000. More than 10 million copies were being sold in 2001 and it became USA’s top-selling album. His last album was ‘One More Light’ that was released in the month of May.
Chester Bennington used to live with his wife and six children.
