With Shah Rukh Khan’s two contemporaries doing on “wrestling” genre, it could be thought that he will also follow the grace but Shah Rukh, popular for his romantic and emotional character, said that he doesn’t believe in such thing and would keep up with romantic roles and romantic genre of films.
“Let Aamir and Salman handle wrestling. Two of them are enough to handle wrestling. Above all I don't look like a wrestler from any angle. I am a romantic hero and I don't know wrestling," said Shah Rukh during a media interaction for Eid celebrations at his residence Mannat.
Salman starred Sultan, in which the actor plays the role of a wrestler, is already making leaps and bounds in theatres while Aamir Khan will also be seen in the similar role later this year, but in a biopic based on real-life wrestler Mahavir Phogat.
Salman’s sports drama Sultan and Shah Rukh thriller Raees were about to clash at the box-office this Eid, but this was turned away as the Raees release has been postponed to next year after Shah Rukh suffered injuries.
“When two films release at the same time, we don’t get that big theatrical release we want. If the movie doesn’t get release on 4,000 screens, the budget of the movie suffers. One needs to have 8,000 to 10,000 theatres for two movies releasing at the same time. I don’t think two big-budget films can release at the same time. Secondly, I suffered some injuries and some body shot portions are still left to shoot. But otherwise the film is ready,” he said.
Now the movie is scheduled to hit the theatre on January 26 when Raees will collide with Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil, which kicked off recently.
"We have discussed with Hrithik for Kaabil, because the movie has just started shooting. So hopefully we will come out on January 26 or 27, 2017," he added.
Raees is directed by Rahul Dholakia and produced by Gauri Khan, Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under their banner – Red Chillies Entertainment and Excel Entertainment. It also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Mahira Khan.
