Balochistan: At least 18 people were killed and 27 other injured on Thursday when a suicide assailant blew himself outer a Sufi shrine in southwest Pakistan’s Balochistan. Provincial home secretary Akbar Harifal also further stated that a suicide bomber blew himself following he caught by police officials on duty outside the shrine.
In the incident 18 people killed counting three children of age 12 and two policemen, and over 27 others injured. Provincial home minister Sarfaraz Bugti confirmed the toll. The occurrence happened as Muslims attended annual celebrations of a local saint.
Members of Sunni and Shiite sects make every day visits to the shrine in Jhal Magsi district but attendance climbs considerably throughout festivities. Harifal further conveyed that the gravely wounded tolerant were being airlifted to southern Sindh province in the nonattendance of adequate medical facilities in restive Balochistan.
Addressing to local saint, the senior local administration official Asad Kakar also further added that the deadly bomb struck outside the shrine at a time when it was full with people attending anniversary celebrations of Syed Cheesal Shah.
Balochistan administration representatives Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar further added that there was confirmed information of a suicide assault. There was no instant claim of accountability but terrorists and activists have constantly target marginal Shiite Muslims at religious sites.
