Lava on Thursday launched two new smartphones in the Indian market, namely the A72 and A76. Both the 4G supporting . smartphone are priced at Rs. 6,499 and Rs. 5,699 respectively. The company will also launch its A89 smartphone in the coming weeks at Rs. 5,999. The Lava A76 which is the most affordable phone of the lot has a 4.5-inch screen. The A72 and A89 feature a 5-inch screen.
The three phones – the A72, A76, and A89 come with 5-megapixel rear cameras. On the front, the A72 has a 5-megapixel camera paired up with an LED flash, while the A89 has a 2-megapixel camera and the A76 has a measly VGA resolution camera. All the three devices are powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1GB RAM. The phones come with 8GB of internal storage and run on Android Lollipop 5.1. The A72 and A89 also promise an update to Android Marshmallow, which is currently, the latest version of Android.
The A72 has the largest battery of the lot. It has a 2,500mAh battery, while the A89 has a 2,000mAh battery, and the A76 has the smallest one — a 1,850mAh battery. All the handsets support 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and Micro-USB connectivity options. Other features such as flip to mute, auto recording and LED flash indicator during an incoming call is also included.
Smart Music allows users to select and play music even when the screen is off, in turn saving battery life of the phone. Furthermore, there is an auto recording feature, Lava has tailored the software experience with features like video picture-in-picture mode that will allow users to access any other app while watching a video. It also comes with smart screen gestures, which the company claims will enable easy access of a number of features.
