An owner of another old age home woman was detained by the CID on Friday night in Kolkata for allegedly beating children. Currently, around 16 has been arrested.

‘Joka Millennium old age home and rehab centre’ owner Bimal Adhikari (61) of Green Park Hans Pukur in Thakurpukur Police Station limits was arrested during a raid by a team of CID sleuths tonight, a top CID official said.

The reports revealed that around 16 persons have detained among which seven are women.

At least 10 babies were recovered from the NGO’s and it was found that children were allegedly beaten by the NGO employees.

CID protected 10 babies, all young lady youngsters extending from one to ten months old, amid an attack from the third floor of 'Purbasha', a seniority home for slow-witted at Kolagachhiya under Thakurpukur police headquarters, Rajesh Kumar, ADG and IGP, state CID told columnists here toward the evening.
