Kolkata: A dreadful incident occurred on Tuesday morning when a portion of building collapsed in central Burra bazar area, Kolkata. In the mishap an elderly man died and two other members of family sustained grievance.
Police officials conveyed that, the departed recognized as 91-yr-old Taraprasanna Saha. Two other women who injured were Sovarani Saha (70), Beauty Roy (52) and were admitted to Calcutta Medical College.
At the time of incident both the women were inside the building when the roof came crashing down. Fire fighters and associates of disaster management squad evacuated one person who was stranded inside the house.
An official of the State Fire Department also conveyed that this is G + 2 building and there was a temporary structure made of tin on the roof which came down with the roof.
As per the officials of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation ( KMC), the building was former announced as old and unsafe to reside in but the tenants denied to shift.
