Kingfisher Cheque Bounce Case : Former CFO imprisioned for 18 months


Hyderabad  Former CFO, Kingfisher Airlines, A Raghunathan sentenced to imprisionment for 18 months in the cheque bounce case, by a local court in Hyderabad Today. Vijay Mallya was also included in the case but his sentence was deferred due to his absence in the court.

The matter relates to two cheques involving Rs 50 lakh each issued by Kingfisher Airlines Ltd to GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd (GHIAL), which operates Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, towards charges for using the facilities at the airport for Kingfisher Airlines flights.

The court, though, had said that Raghunathan had not appeared before it. The court had issued non-bailable warrants against Vijay Mallya, Kingfisher Airlines Chairman on the case of bouncing off both the cheques. According to the GMR counsel, a sum total of 17 cases have already been filed against the Vijay Mallya-owned Airlines, over an amount of Rs.22.5 crores that remained outstanding.
