Kerala : In Kerala an incident came in light, where father-son relationship got shamefull. A 36-year-old IT professional allegedly shot dead his father, chopped the limbs into pieces and then dumped them at various places; in order to evade suspicion. According to the reports, Sherin John, employed with a company in IT hub Technopark, was arrested after he confessed having killed his 68-year-old father, Joy V John last week.
Joy V John was living in the US with the family. He and wife Mariamma came to their ancestral house at Alappuzha on May 19. Sherin was in the US till 2013. He returned to India and joined Infosys as a consultant. Alappuzha district superintendent of police Ashok Kumar P said that Sherin, a divorcee, nurtured a grudge against his father for being unfair and biased towards him.
On May 25, while returning from Alappuzha in their car, an altercation broke out between them after Sherin demanded that his father pay him for renovation works carried out in some buildings owned by them. Joy not only declined to pay the money, but also threatened that he would not bequeath property to Sherin. Following this, Sherin shot his father. "The body parts were recovered from 4-5 places," Kumar said, adding that Sherin married in 2010 but he and his wife divorced in 2014. Chengannur police said on May 25, Sherin and Joy V John went to Thiruvananthapuram to fix the air-conditioner of their car. When they failed to return home, Mariamma lodged a complaint on May 27, stating that her husband and son were missing.
On the evening of May 25, Sherin had called his mother and informed her that he had shot his father by mistake. After that, his phone was switched off. The police registered a missing person case and started investigations. Sherin was taken into custody from Kottayam on Saturday. Reports said that Sherin also took a photograph of his father's dismembered body on his mobile phone.
