THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Cyclone Ockhi that strike Kerala two days back takes the lives of nearly 13 people. As per the reports, nearly 117 fishermen are still missing.
Nearly 450 fishermen have been evacuated by several agencies and nearly 530 families moved to relief camps in Kerala.
Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan stated, “I have approved chief secretary K M Abraham to make a full representation in this matter,” he affirmed.
The state government has also declared a recompense of Rs 10 lakh for the kins of fisherman who died in Ockhi cyclone.
Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis stated, “On the whole, 68 fishing boats have come to, among which 66 are from Kerala and 2 from Tamil Nadu with whole 952 fisherman on board. All are protected. Maharashtra will totally take care of everybody till climate allows them to back off.
The state chief minister visited some wounded fishermen, who were evacuated from the backwaters and taken to the medical college hospital in Thiruvanathapuram.
Four fishermen were evacuated by a Navy chopper on Saturday 20 miles off Kochi.
