Kejriwal plea dismissed by the Delhi court


New Delhi: The trail court refuses the plea filed by senior advocate Ram Jethmalani on behalf of Mr Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi on Thursday. Jethmalani sought a temporary adjournment of the criminal or civil defamation case against Arivnd Kejriwal and five others which was rejected by the chief metropolitan magistrate.

The application moved by senior advocate Ram Jethmalani before Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Sumit Das said there are two cases one civil and the other criminal filed against the AAP leaders on same allegations and one of them should be stayed.

The matter has to proceed further, the application is dismissed, said the Court. Chief metropolitan magistrate has set the next date for hearing on July 16, when arguments on the notice will be heard.

Jaitley filed a defamation case worth Rs 10 crore against Kejriwal and Aam Aadmi Party leaders Kumar Vishwas, Ashutosh Bhardwaj, Sanjay Singh, Raghav Chadha and Deepak Bajpayee that they made "false and defamatory" statements in a case involving the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA), thereby harming his reputation.
