New Delhi: Two senior police officers have been transferred from South Kashmir range, which was worst hit by violence following killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani. Government transferred DIG South Kashmir and SSP Anantnag amid ongoing unrest in the Valley.
DIG South Kashmir Nitish Kumar has been replaced by DIG Central Kashmir G.H Bhat, and SSP Anantnag Abdul Jabbar has been replaced by SSP Traffic Rural Zubair Ahmad.
Accordingn to sources, local news agency KNS said Nitish Kumar will go for official training while Viplo Kumar has been given additional charge of Central Kashmir Range that was looked after by Bhat. SSP Anantnag has been shifted for mishandling the situation in the district.
