SRINAGAR: Atleast Two Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists died in gunfire on Saturday that was carried out by security forces at Dialgam, in Anantnag district of south Kashmir.
As per the reports, two people, involving a 44-year-old woman, who made an attempt to evacuate the militants by disturbing the operation, also lost their lives in disciplinary gunfight carried out by security forces.
Lashkar accused Bashir Lashkari was indulged in the June 17 clashes that took place in Achabal area. The attack lost the lives of six policemen, involving station house officer Feroz Dar, who died in June, director general of police S P Vaid stated. The dead body of the policemen was mutilated.
On Friday, another militant, Ajaz Ahmad Malik of Arwani, Lashkari protected himself in a home in a new housing area between Ganai Bagh and Dreenth in Dialgam area.
After getting relevant information about their existence, security forces carried out a barricading on Saturday, police stated. Several villagers came out of their house and started pelting stones on the security forces. The militants also started gunfire at the security forces.
Police stated, the terrorists made attempt to utilize the villagers as human protection. Heavy gunfire wounded one woman. She has been identified as Tahira Akhtar. While, other civilian, Shahdab Ahmad, died in stone pelting.
