Kashmir: Two Indian Army gatekeepers wounded, Pakistan contravenes truce along LoC in Poonch sector


Jammu:  At Least two gatekeeper wounded after Pakistani army contravenes the truce from small arms and automatic arms along the Line of Control (LoC) on Thursday in Poonch district of J&K. The injured were taken to the nearby hospital.

“Pakistan Army initiated unprovoked and indiscriminate firing of small arms and automatic weapons from 1145 hours in Poonch sector along the Line of Control (LoC),” a senior army official affirmed.

Indian Army persons taking care of the border hit back strongly and efficiently. “The firing stopped at 1155 hours,” he said.

Recently, Pakistani army contravenes the truce twice by gunfire along the Line of control in Degwar and Maldalyan areas of Poonch sector.

Pakistan Army started gratuitous and arbitrary gunfire of small weapons in Krishna Ghati sector along the LoC in Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir.

On August 26, Pakistani army infringes the truce in Pargwal area of Jammu district. On August 25, Border Security Force (BSF) jawan KK Appa Rao was wounded in firing when Pakistan warden breached the armistice in Jammu-Kashmir along the IB.

The matters of armistice infringement by Pakistan have augmented harshly this year. Till August, it was noted 285 by the Pakistan troops, on the other hand, last year it was noted 228.
