Kashmir: Three militants died in encounter in Anantnag district


Kashmir: Nearly three terrorists died in an encounter that was carried out by security forces in Wani Hama village in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, reports said.

The gunfire started at around 8 pm in Wani Hama after an anti-militancy operation conducted by security forces. As per the reports, three militants died in the gunbattle.

The investigation is in process by the officials in the area.

On Monday, militants targeted an army convoy at Bijbehara in Anantnag. In the firing by security personnel, one person got badly wounded. Later, the Army seized the area and carried out an investigation to caught the militants.

Recently, eight people lost their lives and many others got wounded after a bus was attacked on July 10 by the terrorists. It was carrying Amarnath pilgrims on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in Anantnag.

The security forces attacked three top Hizbul Mujhadeen militants on July 12. In the attack, one of the culprit in the killing of Deputy Superintendent of Police Mohommad Ayub Pandit died at Redbug village in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
