Kashmir: Three jawans wounded in militant attack


SRINAGAR: Nearly three soldiers wounded in a terror attack that took place on an army in Kashmir on Saturday following the death anniversary of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani.

The day before Burhan Wani death anniversary, the authorities had enforced curfew and suspended mobile internet and broadband services to maintain peace in the valley.

The separatists and even two Hurriyat factions carried out protest in Kashmir and rally ‘Tral chalo’ to celebrate the day.

Defence sources stated, about three soldiers got wounded after militants targeted an army patrol party of 13 Rashtriya Rifles in Bandipora district of north Kashmir. Several stone pelting incidents were recorded in Shopian and Kulgam districts.

On Saturday, Burhan Wani supporters hurled stones on security forces in Tral. The reports revealed that the people also played pro-Pakistan songs in local mosques on loud speakers.

Inspite of limitations in Tral, several people gathered at Wani’s home in Shareefabad to pay tribute to the assassinated militants.

Moreover, Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif as well as army chief Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa also paid mark of respect to Burhan Wani.
