Kashmir: Pakistan army contravenes ceasefire along LoC in Rajouri and Poonch sectors; India responds


Jammu: Pakistan Army continued to gratuitous gunfire at two areas along the Line of Control (LoC) in J&K leading the Indian Army to react.

Following infringement of the truce in Poonch district prior on Wednesday, Pakistan Army started firing in Naushera sector of Rajouri district.

Defence Ministry Spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Manish Mehta stated, “Pakistan initiated indiscriminate firing of small arms, heavy automatics and Recoilless Rifles on the LoC in Naushera sector also.”

Gunfire began at 9.30 am after which the Indian Army responded. The gunfire was still continued.

On Wednesday, the shelling and firing was held between Indian and Pakistani in Poonch district in Bhimber Gali areas.

“The Pakistan Army initiated indiscriminate firing of small arms automatics and 82 mm mortars in Bhimber Gali sector of the LoC”, the spokesman stated.

Pakistan Army has been infringing the two-sided gunfire since two weeks by continuing to shelling and firing in Poonch and Rajouri districts.

The Indian Army articulates it is being carried out by Pakistan to make possible the infiltration of terrorists into the Indian side.
