Kashmir: Violence between protesters and security personnel took place when the security forces seized Malangpora village in Pulwama to carry out a search operation. It was launched by Indian Army, Police and CRPF.
After the information about existence of militants, the investigation was started. Later, a mob reached to the streets and hurled stones at them to avert the operation. Also, the teargas shells were fired by police officials to scatter them.
Police sources stated they had got information about the existence of terrorists in the village, involving a top Hizbul Mujahideen commander. The violence is currently on in the area.
On Saturday, a similar incident took place when security forces shot dead two Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militants, involving commander Bashir Lashkari in Anantnag district of Kashmir. Terrorist Bashir Lashkari was involved in the killing of six policemen. The attack was held in June.
During the operation, two civilians involving 44-year-old Tahira and 21-year-old Shadab Ahmad Chopan, died in Brenti-Batpora village in Dialgam area of Pulwama.
“The encounter is over. Two militants have been killed,” Director General of Police S P Vaid stated.
