MYSORE: A loud explosion was heard from a public toilet near the premises of a court in Mysore (now called Mysuru) at around 4:10 PM on Monday. Windowpanes were shattered due to the intensity of the explosion, police said, adding the two persons received minor injuries. Senior police officials who rushed to the court cordoned off the area and pressed dog and bomb detection squads into service. They said the cause of the blast is being investigated.
According to reports, explosive material was planted in the toilet behind the court wall. Karnataka Home minister Dr. G Parameshwara who was in the city to participate in the funeral of chief minister Siddaramaiah's son Rakesh visited the spot. The city police meanwhile have launched a manhunt for the suspects.
