Actress Kangana Ranaut is ready to work as a director in upcoming film ‘Teju’. The reports revealed that she will essay a role of an octogenarian. After the completion of upcoming film ‘Manikarnika — The Queen of Jhansi’, she will start this project. The shooting of film will be held in the Himalayas. The film is slated to hit the theatres in 2018.
‘Tanu weds Manu’ actress will produce the film under her latest unveiled banner, Manikarnika Films. She will be working with Shailesh Singh, who had earlier produced blockbuster films including Tanu Weds Manu and Simran.
In the upcoming film, Kangana Ranaut would be featured in a role of 80-year-old woman. “The film will be about every old person I know and have loved. It will also be a lot about me as I am older than my years.”
This declaration comes after well-known writer Apurva Asrani blames her for taking acclaim for his work in film Simran.
Kangana shared, “By the time I was a toddler, my great grandmother was in her eighties. I grew up around old people and it pains me to see senior citizens largely ignored in any community, society or country. Teju is a woman perched on the threshold of death but not yet ready to leave the world.”
Teju is slated to hit the theatres in the month of December in year 2018.
