Jordan’s King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, who arrived in India yesterday, will see Prime Minister Narendra Modi today at at Hyderabad House.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi broke the protocol to receive the Jordan’s King personally at the airport in New Delhi. Earlier Narendra Modi became the first Indian PM to visit Jordan in span of 30 long years. The king’s visit comes soon after Modi’s visit to Jordan in early February.
In their meeting, the main topic of discussion will mostly be defense, security and investments.
Prime Minister also tweeted about this meeting with the King of Jordan.
Looking forward to meeting His Majesty King Abdullah II today. We will take part in a conference on ‘Islamic Heritage: Promoting Understanding and Moderation’ at 10:30 this morning in Delhi. After that, we shall be holding talks aimed at boosting India-Jordan relations.

King Abdullah is known to be against Islamic extremism and this could be of great help to India in counter-terror operations in future.
The visit could also lay the foundation of a defence framework agreement between the two nations: India and Jordan.
In reality, with the support of King of Jordan, India can get the a full fledged chance to deepen the security ties with Jordan to leverage its unique strategic location in the Levant, with access to the Red Sea and the eastern Mediterranean.
