JNU Research Scholar Charged For Raping 26-year-old woman


NEW DELHI: A Rape Case has been enrolled against a JNU PhD researcher for supposedly rapping a 26-year-old lady on the pre text of marriage, police said today.

A senior cop asking for secrecy told Indo-Asian News Service the lady had drawn closer the police on Tuesday evening whining that the denounced, Ajay Singh, an occupant of Madhya Pradesh, had purportedly assaulted her on the guise of marriage.The denounced was known not casualty since 2008, police said.

"The young lady had come to Delhi in 2010 and from that point forward they were in relationship. Singh in spite of rehashed solicitations from the casualty was not wedding her, thus she drew nearer police," the officer included.A case has been enrolled at south Delhi's Vasant Kunj police headquarters under segment 376 (assault) of the Indian Penal Code, police said.

Sources said that Ajay Singh is being addressed by police and he may be captured after the announcement of the lady is recorded under segment 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC).A month ago, a PhD researcher of Jawaharlal Nehru University was set up for assault charges.
