Baramulla. Two suspected terrorists have been arrested from Sopore district in Baramulla area of Jammu & Kashmir on Thursday morning. Arms and ammunition including two rocket launcher grenades were recovered from them. However, identity of terrorists has not been revealed yet.
One terrorist was killed in the gunfight with security forces in Jammu & Kashmir’s Kupwara district. Earlier eight CRPF personnel martyred and two terrorist neutralized in the encounter.
As per the sources, at least 60 terrorists have crossed the border and are believed to launch attacks in India, out of which three are expected to the suicide attackers who have entered the valley.
Home Minister Rajnath Singh is expected to visit Jammu & Kashmir on Friday to take firsthand stock of security situation in the Kashmir valley ahead of the forthcoming Amarnath Yatra. However, Singh had earlier taken review of the security scenario in Jammu & Kashmir at the high level meeting in New Delhi.
A report will be submitted to the ministry on the Pampore attack in which 8 CRPF troopers were killed and 22 got injured on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway on June 25. Director General of CRPF and BSF will also be present during the Home Minister’s visit.
