The violence between security forces and militants in Jammu and Kashmir continues in the region. The death toll of Kashmir has reached to 92 till July 2 in 2017. While, the death toll of terrorists was 79 in year 2016.
Especially, the data of militants counteracted by counter-terror forces in year 2017 have exceed the year-wise records for 2012 and 2013 when UPA government was in control.
If we talk about year 2012 and 2013, the figure of dead terrorists were 72 and 67 respectively while it was 110 in year 2014, 108 in year 2015 and 150 in year 2016 after NDA came to control.
“Terrorists killed till July 2 this year are only slightly less than killings through 2014 and 2015,” a senior home ministry official stated.
“The forces have been given a free hand to track and intercept the terrorists holed up in the valley, before launching intelligence-based operations with due mapping of the target and how to neutralize terrorists with minimum collateral damage,” it added.
He even emphasized the detail that nearly 92 terrorists lost lives in Jammu and Kashmir till July 2 this year. As per the reports, they were eminent terror groups.
Meanwhile, the record also revealed the sharp turn down in the data of terror attacks. In year 2016, about 371 infiltration cases were noted down. Till May-end in 2017, the data came down to 124.
