NEW DELHI: Nearly 75 militants involving top commanders of the Lashkar, Hizb and Jaish terror groups have been killed by Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in 2017, a top official asserted.
CRPF Director General Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar gave the statement on Wednesday during the speech of 78th anniversary of the army in south Delhi’s Lodhi Road area headquarters.
Bhatnagar asserted that more than 3.5 lakh-strong force has found 118 arms belonging to terrorists in Kashmir amid January and July 26 in year 2017. Between this period, the CRPF killed two Hizbul Mujahideen (HM), two Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and one Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) militants in Kashmir, he asserted.
The list of terrorists who were attacked by CRPF includes Shabbat Ahmed Bhat and Gulzar Ahmed Lone of HM, Bashir Lashkar Wani and Junaid Mattoo of LeT, Aquib Ahmed aka Abu Hamza of JeM and two other militants found as Jahangir Ahmed Hannibal and Shabaz Ahmed Wani.
