Kashmir: Five militants on Monday killed as army productively foiled an infiltration bid from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) into Machil sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Troops scrutinizing the area observed distrustful movement along the LoC and instantly confronted the intruders.
Five militants shot dead in the firing. Army officials recovered weapons from the spot. Defence ministry representative Col Rajesh Kalia also conveyed that, five weapons recovered from the killed militants. The operation is still on.
On July 23, another permeation attempt was foiled by the security forces in the area. Then army introduced a cordon and hunt operation in Pulwama district’s Pinglena village, after specific inputs about presence of militants.
