Jammu-Kashmir: Four militants killed in Rampur as Army thwarts infiltration bid

  Nearly four terrorists died in infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) by Army on Saturday in the Rampur sector. The search operation is on in the area.

As per the army officials, they observed some doubtful movement along the LoC in the morning. Later, the firing started between the infiltrators and the Army in the region.

In the past few weeks, several infiltration bid were carried out in the area.

“With the mercury rising and snow-melting in the valley, the chances of infiltration increase from the Pakistani side. The Army is all geared up to counter such threats,” Major General Ashok Narula said.

The Army carried out attacks on Pakistani positions across LoC few days back.

Official sources asserted that the punitive actions were information to Pakistan that the Army will take strict step against any infiltration attempts from across the border.

“It was a part of the action to proactively rule the LoC and counter-psychological oppression operations to check penetration,” Major Narula included.

Meanwhile, the Army on Friday vindicates the May 1 executing of two of its security men by killing two fear mongers of Pakistan’s Border Action Team (BAT), even as it thwarted an assault in Uri by the gathering that has been blamed for strikes, ambushes and severity on hold of Control (LoC).

The police sources revealed that the dead bodies of two assassinated BAT militants were found in “no man’s” land along the LoC.

Indian army officials were attacked by Pakistan’s Border Action Team and they even decaptitate Indian soldiers’ bodies.

On Friday, about three militants were attacked in Pulwama sector of Jammu and Kashmir. The army also attacked an Army patrol party.

“Encounter started at Saimu Tral. Reportedly 3 terrorists trapped,” Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police Shesh Paul Vaid tweeted.
