Jammu And Kashmir : Suspicious activity along LOC


The Border Security Force (BSF) Noticed some suspicious activity along the Line Of Control (LOC) on Friday in the Keran sector of Jammu and Kashmir. The BSF troopers then resorted to firing just after the notice of such activities.

Police said the BSF troops posted in the upper bore area of the LoC in Keran sector noticed some suspicious movement after which they fired.The search operation in India are underway.

Heavily armed militants suspected to be from Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) had stormed an army base in Uri in Kashmir on September 18, 2016, killing 18 jawans. The Army foiled two infiltration bids in Uri and Naugam sectors of Kashmir on September 21,​ 2016.

After the Uri terror attack, security has been beefed up along the border and Line of Control to check for infiltration activities. The Indian forces have swung into action immediately to deal with any terror threat from Pakistan. The BSF has also heightened security across the country. Major check posts are seen at Attari checkpost, where thousands of tourists visit every day to witness the retreat ceremony.

Meanwhile, a Pakistani national has been apprehended at international border in Akhnoor sector of Jammu by BSF. More Details are awaited.
