Jaipur: Three members of a family died after the car in which they were travelling was hit by a speeding truck on Jaipur-Delhi highway near Pawata on Saturday morning. The deceased have been identified as Ramakant, Kamlesh and his wife Sunita. The police said that the one-year-old son of Kamlesh and daughter were injured in the accident and have been rushed to the hospital where they are currently out of danger.
"The accident took place at 5.30 am. The family was returning from a family function in Lucknow. They tried to overtake a truck near Pawata, in the meantime another truck at a very high speed, rammed into their car," police said.
While Ramakant and Kamlesh were killed on the spot, Sunita died while on her way to the hospital. According to the police, the villagers came to the help of the stranded children and rushed them to the hospital. They also informed the local police station which arrived with the ambulance.
According to the police, there have been several cases of high speed truck driven by heavily drunk trucks ramming into the cars on this stretch of Jaipur-Delhi National Highway (NH) 8.
