Jaipur Development Authority officials face protesters


Jaipur:Residents of Ganpati Nagar who reached Jaipur Development Authority's (JDA), Mansarovar office for regularisation of their colony, created ruckus as officials came nearly six and half hours late. Plot owners started queuing up from 9 am on Tuesday for the regularisation of their colony. However, no official was found on their seat in the camp.

According to reports , the tehsildar, patwari, assistant town planner reached the camp at 3.30 pm. Being impatience, residents damaged tables and chairs at the office. They also tore off the records and destroyed the computer in tehsildar's room.

Sensing seriossness of the matter, officials called police and many residents were arrested for destroying public property and creating violence. It was informed that residents got agitated after computer operator, clerk and helpers refused to accept their records.

"JDA orgnaised this camp to regularise 100 plots of the colony. The plot owners started submitting their documents soon after reaching office. After taking documents from few plot owners, the clerk refused to take documents further. When residents asked about the senior officers, the staff did not give any satisfactory reply.

The agitated residents then broke table and chairs after officials reached office at 3.30 pm," informed an eyewitnesses. Residents also have alleged that officials have prepared a false layout plan of the colony to benefit the influential. Many plots are allegedly marked in facility area, where plot owners are living for past several years.

This is the second incidents in weeks' time where residents have created ruckus at JDA office. Earlier , residents of Hanuman Vatika area, who were demanding regularization of the scheme for long, created ruckus and damaged property at Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) headquarters.
