Jaipur: Additional district court on Wednesday reserved the order on the petition seeking execution of the decree in favour of the erstwhile Jaipur royals by a lower court and initiating contempt proceedings against JDA in violation of the decree taking possession of the land adjoining the Rajmahal Place a few days back. JDA counsel Govind Sharma said it had sealed the land of khasra no 194 which were acquired by the JDA and the royal property comes under Kasra No 195.
On the closing of the main gate, he said there were three more gates to Rajmahal Hotel and the closing the main gate has not affected entry into the hotel. It said present contempt petition is pre-mature as JDA had challenged the decree in favour of the Royals by the lower court in the high court.
Ramesh Sharma, counsel for the erstwhile Jaipur royals argued that the main road to the hotel is not part of the land claimed by the JDA and its closing is illegal. In 1972, the government had acquired 65 bhigas and 16 biswas of land around the hotel and had issued an award to this effect in 1993. But it was challenged at additional session's court which granted an injunction in November 24, 2011, he argued. However, JDA had forcefully taken possession of the land, he argued.
