Jaipur: Four persons sustained minor injuries after members of two communities pelted stones at each other in Ramganj area of the city on Thursday night. Police added that the dispute took place between two neighbours and they started pelting stones at each other and provocative statements were made.
"Four people sustained minor injuries and were discharged after first aid. We have registered FIR against five people for disrupting peace and law and order in the area. An investigation has also been launched into the matter," police said.
Police officials also added that additional force has been deployed in the area in order to avert further escalation of tension. "Police have been conducting march and search operations since morning to ensure that miscreants don't flare up the issue any longer. A proper investigation will be carried out against the miscreants," police said.
Ramganj SHO Ashok Chauhan said that police have talked to both the sections and pacified them. "The situation is under control right now. We are keeping a close tab on suspects who can create tension further. Some suspects have also been rounded up by police," he added.
