Jagdish Gagneja assault: Police arrests three with KJF links


New Delhi: Unable to find any substantial lead, Punjab police on Thursday arrested three people in RSS leader Jagdish Gagneja attack case. The police said that three arrested also have some links with Khalistan Zindabad Force, a militant organisation. Two pistols and cartridges have also been recovered from the accused.

“Three people arrested in connection with attack on RSS Punjab leader Jagdish Gagneja,two pistols and cartridges recovered” Punjab Police was quoted as saying by a news paper. Meanwhile, media on Wednesday reported that Gagneja has shown signs of improvement. The RSS vice president of Punjab had undergone a surgery to remove two bullets from his stomach. However, one bullet is still stuck in his body.

The leader was shot at on Saturday by bike-borne assailants at Jyoti Chowk area here when he had gone shopping with his wife, leaving him seriously injured. The bullets hit the leader’s lower abdominal leaving his small intestine damaged at five points and the large intestine at three points, the doctors said. A four-member SIT has been formed to probe the attack. The leader is being treated at Hero DMC Heart institute, Ludhiana where a special team of senior doctors is taking care of him.
