Islamic State assailants attacked 9 people at church in Quetta ahead of Xmas


Nearly nine people lost their lives and 30 others wounded in an attack by Islamic State at Methodist church on Sunday in Quetta in Pakistan.

The incident took place at 12.10 pm when around 400 people were offering prayers at Bethel Memorial church on Imdad square.

Within the church, one of the attackers also died during a shootout with the cops inside the church whereas the left over two attackers rushed from the spot.

“The cops are looking for those who ran away,” a police officer stated.

At Least 28 people have been wounded and two attackers lost their lives. At the Civil Hospital Quetta,  nearly 30 people including women and children got injured.

The Islamic State terror organization carried out suicide bomb and gun attack at the church on Sunday.

Balochistan government announced emergency in public hospitals of Quetta after the attack.
