JAKARTA, INDONESIA: At Least 27 people dead after a jam-packed tourist bus coming back from a trip met with an accident with a motorbike and fall down from a hill on Indonesia’s main island of Java. The incident occurred after the brakes of bus got failed.

As per the reports, nearly 18 wounded people were sent to the hospital on Saturday to undergo treatment after the collision in Subang in West Java province, local police chief Muhammad Joni stated.

The photographs and video footage of the incident has gone viral on the social media. It shows cops, armed forces and medical workers rescuing the sufferers from the upturned bus, having over 40 local sightseers. It was going for Tangerang from West Java’s Tangkuban Perahu when the incident occurred.

Joni stated cops were still probing the cause of the mishap.  Initial probe revealed that the brakes failure was the reason behind the accident. Another reason was that the bus hitting a motorbike ahead of falling into a grass field.

Several victims lost their lives on the spot, Joni added.

Cops were interrogating the bus driver, who sustained less wounds.
